Coconut Butter
yields: 1 cup of coconut butter
- 3 cups shredded coconut
- 1 tsp of vanilla flavor
- Place the ingredients in a high powered blender, and blend.
- You may have to scrap down the sides if you are using a food processor or a regular blender.
That is all. Seriously, it is that easy, and so much cheaper than the store bought variety!
Chocolate Coconut Butter
- Homemade coconut butter (from above recipe)
- ½ cup of raw cacao or carob
- 2 very ripe bananas
- ¼ cup of warm water to help with blending
- 1 tsp of vanilla flavor
- Place all the ingredients in your high powered blender, except the water.
- Now add water little by little while blending to reach your desired consistency. I used ½ a cup of water and it became a nice creamy consistency.
This chocolate coconut spread could easily used in so many different ways. Perhaps place in the freezer in a square dish for some chocolate fudge, or spread it on some raw bread or just regular bread. You could also use it as raw pie filling
