I have to thank my husband for this one. When he saw my nuts soaking he asked, “are you soaking them in kefir?” I wasn’t (the pecan water turns brown, making it appear so), but I thought it was a brilliant idea. I mean, why not?
After that, I did add about 1 cup water kefir to the nuts (along with the water) when soaking them.
Probiotic soaked nuts were born!
Below you can see my walnuts, almonds, and pecans soaking away. I let them soak overnight. In the morning, I drained them, then dehydrated them all day long.
Now I have probiotic nuts to snack on.
