What is glutathione?
Glutathione is a tripeptide, an antioxidant that protects against free radicals. While all cells in the human body are capable of synthesizing glutathione, liver glutathione synthesis has been shown to be essential.
There’re two major glutathione groups; one that is contained in many fruits and vegetables (GPx), and one that is created only within the body (GSH). Plant-based glutathione is also an antioxidant, but somewhat less potent than GSH. So the question is how to help your body to produce more of this potent substance?
To answer this question, we have to understand how glutathione is produced in the body. Glutathione is made of 3 amino acids: glutamate, cysteine and glycine. From those 3 amino acids, the cysteine is generally the most difficult to have in sufficient quantity. So by eating foods rich in cysteine, you would naturally boost your production of glutathione.
Since glutathione is so effective for detoxification, it could be tempting to take some glutathione supplements. However, studies have found that taking glutathione in oral supplements have practically no effect on glutathione levels in the blood. On the other hand, the same studies shown that by boosting our intake of the glutathione precursors (the amino acids that builds glutathione within the body), it could naturally support our body to produce more glutathione.Eating foods that boost your Glutathione levels is the best way to go.
Here are some of the Best foods to boost your glutathione levels -
– Broccoli
– Brussels sprouts
– Cabbage
– Cauliflower
– Avocados
– Peaches
– Watermelon
– Cinnamon

Another important thing to naturally increase your glutathione levels is to exercise. Exercising is really the king when it comes to natural detox. It not only boosts your glutathione levels, it's the main substance involved in detox, it also helps you get rid of toxins through sweat and deep breathing.
